Sonya Smith-Valentine Joins Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union Board of Directors as an Associate Director
Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union has named Sonya Smith-Valentine as its new Associate Director for the Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Ms. Smith-Valentine brings decades of financial and legal experience to the Credit Union’s Board. Currently, she is the President of Financially Fierce, LLC, a financial education and training company. Prior to founding Financially Fierce, Ms. Smith-Valentine ran the highly successful consumer protection and financial litigation law firm – the Valentine Legal Group, LLC. She has previously worked for both Price Waterhouse Coopers and Deloitte & Touché.
“I am honored to join the Prince George’s Community Credit Union Board as an Associate Director. I look forward to contributing my knowledge, experience and perspectives to help lead the credit union forward,” said Ms. Smith-Valentine. “The credit union’s strong assets and differentiated strategy position the credit union for continued growth and success. I am excited to begin working with the entire Board and management team to deliver further value for the credit union and its members.”
Smith-Valentine graduated from Villanova University with a BS in Accountancy and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School. She has been recognized as one of Black Enterprise Magazine’s Financial All Stars and honored as a Powerhouse Woman of the Year in addition to the Power 100 Women in Finance.
